The 7’s & 8’s APIA Elite Program is designed to provide the APIA football family an opportunity to experience elite level coaching at the discovery phase of the FFA curriculum. The program will offer players games during the season and 2 nights a week training, which will increase players touches on the ball and aid the players’ development.
The APIA Elite program will run as an 8, 9, or 10 team competition.
Under 7s: each team will consist of 7 to 10 graded players (Varying technical abilities)
Under 8s: each team will consist of 8 to 10 graded players (Varying technical abilities)
Training will be structured as one session for both the U7s and U8s, with a minimum of 2 to 4 coaches each session. There will be 2 training sessions which will run for 1 hour per session. These sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 4:30 pm each day. The coaches will be present on game days to guide and structure the teams. Game days will be on Saturday mornings at 8am. There is no formal competition, so the emphasis is placed on structuring the two opposing teams on game days to maximise the development of the players, individually and as a group.
The Club’s Junior arm, the Leichhardt Tigers Junior Soccer Club Inc, is proud to promote the APIA Elite Development Program, which aims to fast track your child’s improvement and development.
The targeted age groups for 2024 are players born in 2015 (Under 7) and 2014 (Under 8). The program includes Orientation and 2 Training Sessions per week and approximately 18 games per season at the Club’s state-of-the-art, boutique stadium situated at Lambert Park, (SUBJECT TO FIELD AVAILABILITY ) Marion Street, Leichhardt. Please note that the U7s group may be entered into the Canterbury Districts Competition or combined with the U8s on game days.
Each squad, in each age group, will have quality coaches and assistant coaches, with structured, fast-paced and enjoyable coaching sessions.
